Yesterday

Yesterday morning, I had an ultrasound and we all got to find out the gender of baby #3. It was a pretty amazing machine, but a REALLY squirmy baby... which is why the picture is a little unclear...

Baby's profile with hand near the face. :)

Yesterday evening I went shopping... cause thats what you do when you find out... buy baby a new outfit, right? Or two or eight...

...

...

Its another girl for us! :)

By the way, if you love the cuteness that is Gymboree, I asked one of the employees at my store if they had any 0-3 month fall/winter things in back (read: old stuff marked down cheap), and they brought me out a big ol' pile of things to pick through. You just have to ask and they're usually happy to pull stuff for you if they're not too busy. Everything I got was marked under $7 per peice.

Nesting

I've been going a little crazy nesting lately. It's really kicked in pretty badly. I'm trying to be all ready and stocked for this new kid. I currently blame the state of my closet on nesting...

Yeah. If you want to know, that is over 550 diapers. Talk about stocking up. But there was a killer deal... combine the sale price on Huggies at Walgreens this week with a $5 manufacturer's coupon with an in-store instant rebate deal... it was kind of a steal for all those diapers. It doesn't seem crazy, until you understand the amount of time I spent in Walgreens and calling Walgreens this week trying to make sure I could get in on the deal (they, naturally, sold out of all Huggies diapers SO fast this week, so I was stalking their delivery truck, and at the store waiting for the diapers as they put them out on the shelves). Sadly, I'm pretty sure if I remember what newborns are like, 550 diapers will probably last us just about 2 months is all.

I think nesting is likely also to blame for he TWO lasagnes (one for dinner, one for the freezer) I made today (not that we can ever even finish one!).

I've also decided that I need and want to learn how to coupon effectively, for diapers if nothing else. I mean, I'm about to have twice as many children in diapers on half the income (okay... I get to keep receiving my paycheck through August, but I'm still freaking out about that whole situation). There just something about getting a steal of a deal that a rush. =)
By the way, for those looking for a deal on diaper, the $5 huggies coupon (along with a $3 one) can be found at coupons.com. You can print 2 from every computer you have access to. Probably the best place to use them now that the Walgreens deal is over is Walmart... my Walmart had the jumbo (small) packs for $9.72... with the $5 coupon you pay on $4.72 for the pack... thats just under 12 cents a diaper for size 3. Can you tell I'm a little obsessed with this? I think I need help...

And the winner is...

I used random.org to choose a number between 1 and 9 for me...

Random Integer Generator
Here are your random numbers:9

Julie wins! You are on a lucky streak in the last few months. But, its kind of fitting. I mean, lets be honest... this is all Julie's fault anyway. =)

Anyway, here's one of the cards Julie will be getting...

Yes, I say one of them becuase I haven't acutally finished any of the other ones yet. Give me a break... I'm in my 33rd week of pregnancy and my swollen ankles can only take so much time sitting and crafting. That, and this kid of mine has decided to place his GIGANTIC (measuring 37 weeks already) head in my ribs, which makes sitting at all kind of hard.

Don't worry Julie... you'll get them eventually!

PS - the second and third numbers random.org picked for me were 7 and 1... so Kristi and April, if I show up with a set of cards for you, you'll know why. =)

Its a Boy!

No pictures... but we did find out yesterday that we are having a little boy this time around! I'm very excited... especially since I'll have one of each and that way will be able to decide I'm done having kids at anytime without worrying about getting my one boy or one girl... I've already got both!

We're thrilled... plus having a boy this time means mommy gets to go shopping for more baby clothes! =)

First Haircut

Last week I finally bit the bullet and got Allison her first hair cut. This little girls has SO much hair and its getting so long. I wanted to avoid the childhood mullet, so we cut it off at the nape of her neck to give the rest of her hair time to catch up and get all one length. We cut bangs too... her hair was just so long on top and it falls forward. They're a little short, but cute when side swept. What do you think?

On another subject, I had my 12 week doctors appointment yesterday. My doctor couldn't find the baby's heartbeat so we got to do an ultrasound instead. Baby is fine... was active and bouncing around in there... just playing hide and seek right behind my big abdominal vein. In theory we'll find out the gender in 8 weeks. =)
