New Arrivals

Yesterday we bought this:

with cash! What?!? True story!

Buying a 2nd car with cash has been our BHAG for over a year now.

And its a good thing we managed it this year too... becuase yesterday I also went to the doctor... and baby #3 is on its way early this December! I got to have a sonogram (to date the pregnancy), which was nice, and baby had a good strong heart beat, was moving like crazy and is about the right size for 11 weeks along. :)

Dear April 6th

As I'm sure you know, you are the date we selected in our real estate contract to close on our house. There are many reasons that we feel like you are, in general, a great date.

1) You fall in the 2nd qaurter of the year, which is decidely spring. Spring is always wonderful, and so are you by association.
2) Easter generally falls near you (as it does this year). We like Easter.
3) An important event, dear to our hearts and of great religious import to us, happened upon you nearly 200 years ago. It even happened not far from where we're now living.

We feel that soon we will be able to add the purchase of our first home to the list of reasons why we love April 6th. However, dear 6th of April, we have one small complant...

Could you hurry it up? We're anxious to see you... and maybe getting the keys to our house has something to do with it too...

We would appreciate you taking our request into your consideration.

Sincerely,

The Thornock Family

Goals: Revisited

So remember how I posted about my urge to own running shoes and lose the baby weight? Yeah... this is me reporting and being honest.

In the three weeks since I wrote that I have gone running... 5 times. Not too great. But I have GREAT excuses.

You see, Brian went out of town on the 18th (just 4 days after my post) and was gone for 5 days. I can't really leave my kids at home by themselves while I go jogging... and I don't have a double jogging stroller.

Once Brian got home I had to go back to work for a week. My doctor approved maternity leave was up and I was taking personal vacation days, which you're not allowed to take in the last week before school is out. And since I have to leave around 7:15 to be to work on time I didn't go running before then.

And here we are to this week. I still have the urge to run. Actually, I hate running. I wish I liked it, and I want to like it, but I don't. The thing is... I hate how my cute pre-baby summer clothes fit more than I hate running. So I go running in the mornings.

Needless to say, I haven't lost any weight yet. But I'll keep you posted (and keep myself honest). Maybe I'll post for Andrea at Mommy Snacks' Fat Burning Friday's.

A Sad Story...

Today I went into Motherhood Maternity. I needed tights, since its December and going bare-legged is simply no longer an option. They had this BEAUTIFUL sweater.

Now, I'll be honest. This picture doesn't really do it justice. Its super soft and I fell in love with it. It is just so... me. I wanted it.

Sadly, I did the responsible things today with our paycheck. I bought 4 of these...
I'm sure you can imagine how much that cost. Tack on the necessary oil change and wheel alignment... *sigh*...

The beautiful sweater is still at the store. And I'm sad now...
